Just tonight I am reminded how nice it is to have a spark as an extra drone. My Mavic gave me a gimbal error suddenly and it's going off to thunderdrones for repair. While it's out I won't be suffering from withdrawal. :) Just something to keep in mind if you can swing it.
If I didn't have a Mavic I'd love my Spark 100%. But having both is nice too. The Spark comes off as a toy to most people, so you can sometimes fly it without being hassled when the Mavic would cause a confrontation. The camera works about as well as the Mavic for most normal people to not...
I agree the cable can be easily and cheaply eliminated by ordering a new GOOD one. My dad's P3P was hardly used and we had it in the air and had a disconnect. Brought it back by vision only and then could not get it to work. Finally switched out the cable and it's been fine since. I have no...
A coworker is a member of the fire department. This morning he forwarded an alert text that a neighbors house was on fire. (Turned out to be not bad thank goodness)
I turned on the security camera app and watched the fire trucks go up the street, etc. It's amazing to see things in real time...
The Mavic was not in the air when it was damaged. I wonder if a good attorney could argue that angle without bringing the flight into question. Again, there were witnesses to the damage and no officer saw the alleged flight.
This is why you don't stand out where people can see you holding the remote and looking up. Most of the time people have no idea there's a drone in the sky until you actually show them, and standing at the end of your driveway looking up is the perfect (or not so perfect) way to do that. Even...
Best thing I ever did was show my neighbors what you see on the phone when flying.
"Well see, you're this thing here, and your daughter is this thing here, and that little blob is your dog. If I'm flying this way I can't even see your house, and it also depends on where I have the camera set...
We made the switch from a P3P and I agree - unless the camera on the P4 was WAAAAAAYYYYYYYY better than the Mavic (and I could tell the difference), I'd never consider it. The Phantom series seems huge, obnoxious, and clunky compared to the new kid on the block. I look for DJI to scale Phantom...
Well I've only had it a month and joined the forum yesterday. Today while taking off I was hovering and had to stop for a second. I absently pulled the right stick and it came at the front porch and hit the railing. Bounced off the railing and hit me in the leg - wow that hurt! Now it says...
