i wonder if she means the actual drone (less the batteries) needs to be checked into baggage? Maybe they are worried that if you have access to both the drone and the batteries in the cabin, you could start it up? Anyway, their guidance is just not very clear, and like you say, contradicts...
But the drone itself must go in the hold, and cannot be brought on board in hand luggage - atleast by my airline

Am I correct in understanding that you have to check your drone in your suitcase - but carry the actual batteries with you in your hand luggage. ? If thats correct, what about the controller - where does that go ?
Thats interesting you say that, as it popped up three times, and that might have been after I replaced each brand new battery for the first time, that came with my fly more combo So it could be that I suppose. But i havent seen the message since.
