Recommendations For Flying The Mavic Out The Cargo Door Of A Float Plane

I would modify a small blow up raft with a solid platform and just deploy the drone on the raft. Let out some line and get the drone away from your aircraft. Launch and land on the platform. When you are done, pull it in. This avoids pretty much all the issues you would face, I think.

    Almost Arrested

I think some folks are missing the bigger picture. What OP did might be legal, it might not, I don't really care and I don't intend to pass judgement on the legality of it. For those of us who are regulars on this forum, there are many, many posts from users who despite their best efforts...

This is why I always carry my Mavic 2 with me.....

Very nice, awesome location and great camera/drone work. One suggestion - the shot starting at 0:59 is obviously sped up - you can tell both by the cows movements and then by the speed of the waves crashing in the distance. I personally try to avoid this effect when possible as I find it...

    Satellite

Correct, they aren't transmitting anything. They're like giant ears, nothing more.

Landing / recovering UAV at speed on a ship

There are two main issues that others have noted: takeoff/landing, and mitigating the risk of losing the drone. For takeoff and landing, I recommend hand launching and hand catching. That way there is no chance the drone will impact the deck. You can hold on to a mavic that is trying to get...

107's guys, get to work. Its not hard. You just start calling companies and offer services.

What is the deliverable for the perimeter inspection? Is it a grid of photos? A video? Would you use any specialized software like dronedeploy?

What's your actual profit per hour, I assume there is work to be done post flight? Do you charge for travel time? To be clear I'm not trying to be a smart *** I'm just curious about the total costs to you in terms of your time.

    First attempt at night photography

Mine was a 1.3 sec exposure at ISO 100 - taken with a Mavic Pro so no aperture control. Also upon inspection of the photo metadata I realized this was actually a single shot in DNG, not an HDR merge.

    First attempt at night photography

Very nice! Night shots are difficult as you know due to the long exposure times. Did you set manual ISO at 100? I definitely recommend that, if not. From a tone perspective I have had success with 3 shots, at -2, 0, and +2 EV, then merging to HDR in Lightroom. I think the Affinity preset you...

    Flying off balcony

Turn off VPS for takeoff, turn it on for flying around, then turn it off for landing. When I fly off balconies that is how I do it.
