QB definitely has it's own processing challenges. But here's a DNG from mini3 opened in LR at 200% also. And the sensor in this drone is also QB. While it's not the most amazing picture sharpness-wise, I see less "patchiness" and more microcontrast in this example.

I'm sorry to be harsh, but these are simply horrendous results. Optically the lens is a mush. And something went terribly wrong with 100->25 mpx quad bayer binning. I see the same very strange color patch issues that @Filmarik has noticed. Look at the out of focus rendering on the ferry boat...

I feel they try to be more video- rather than photo-oriented

Wide angle is 3 rows of 7 frames in most drones, except mini 3 non-pro (and 2 I think) where it is a single row of 7 frames covering roughly 180 deg horizontally.

The yaw in horizontal is +- 22 deg, but I don't know if directly translates into pitch in vertical mode.

that's the maximum pitch of the gimbal - from -90 (nadir) to 70.

Yes, true, even mini drones with +75 deg gimbal pitch should be able to cover zenith if they would add just 1 more image to the set -- 3 zenith images instead of 2.

Full 360 panorama coverage without the zenith hole should finally be possible.
