Do you think this is a sensible flight, even if legal ( UK ), and do you think it is wise to publish it ? NOT mine, I won't fly in a town full stop ..

It goes to show that you need to be very careful before claiming people are breaking the law.

FPV enters forced landing mode unnecessarily?

Excellent info, thanks! If I see any preliminary warning regarding the battery or returning to home, I'll just give the motors a rest straight away then. A substantial amount of the (limited) FPV flying I've been doing has been 70-80 degrees nose down and full power. Also, yes 400 metres, not...

Sub 250 grams can fly in the A1/A3 subcategories no problem. So as close to people/buildings/vehicles as you want, so long as you are also not infringing Article 241 , which states - "A person must not recklessly or negligently cause or permit an aircraft to endanger any person or property."...

FPV enters forced landing mode unnecessarily?

Hi, Playing around in the Malvern Hills today with the FPV, encountered a strange/unexpected behaviour. Had a standard thrash about at treetop height (all in 'M' mode) down to 50% battery, then did a full power climb up to about 400 metres above take-off point, which obviously put the battery...

Can't connect DJI Fly app to FPV

Excellent, it worked, thank you! I admit I didn't RTFM.

Can't connect DJI Fly app to FPV

Hi! Apologies for mentioning the FPV (!) but given it could be an app issue and the greater audience, I thought I'd try here first... I can link the FPV, goggles and controller just fine, no issues there. But I'm really struggling to connect the DJI Fly app to the FPV, and have no way of...

    Government authority's response to auditors

Thought this was interesting, and does suggest that the aforementioned may not be doing the damage to the hobby that many of us worry about... https://www.npsa.gov.uk/social-media-auditors

Peterborough drone operator fined for flying it too high

Geeksvana has just put out a video in which this case is covered first, including footage from the flight in question. Appeared he flew to 1,500', landed in his back garden and published it online.

Where are the UK drone regs?

Thanks, that makes sense! Not at all - ironically, I'm a stickler for the rules, and my job depends on following a set of very strict rules to the letter, which necessitates an intimate knowledge of the laws from which they are derived. I've been doing the job so long that anything safety...

Where are the UK drone regs?

There is no reference to the maximum height/visual line of sight rules in that amendment, nor in the most recent version (2022) of the ANO 2016. There are a couple of sources I've found that also reinforce the fact that it's been removed from the ANO now, instead falling under its own set of...

Where are the UK drone regs?

Hi, Can anyone point me in the direction of the actual, statutory instruments that lay out the drone laws in the UK, specifically those pertaining to maximum height and visual line of sight requirements etc? They used to fall under Article 94 of the Air Navigation Order 2016, but have all been...

Are the supplied prop screws fit for purpose?

Thanks everyone. Yorkshire_Pud, all the screws I've been using have been of the perfectly flush/flat kind, with no additional convergences or quirks that I can see. I think I may have simply acquired a batch of screws that were overly threadlocked, or old man mavic's suggestion worked, or...

Are the supplied prop screws fit for purpose?

Thank you both. Yes, I'm very wary of introducing solvents and the like to things I'm not very knowledgeable about, especially when those things cost as much as a used car! I know that a good, solid torque is more than enough to keep everything together (I check the screws as part of my...

Are the supplied prop screws fit for purpose?

Or is it just me?! So after doing a bit of lawn mowing and grazing a rock face with a prop tip, I decided to just swap them all out and start afresh now I know what I can and can't get away with, as well utilising my shiny new landing pad! Old screws out, props off, new props on, no problem...
