I can't really speak to the UK's current interpretation or how they plan to carry things forward post-Brexit or indeed if anything on the EU side supercedes what's highlighted in the video, I was reacting to the EASA page that's cited in the video and the assertions that the uploader derived...
Drone class is only half the story, you also have your operation subcategories. At the end of the current transition period, any existing drone without a class label (that is all of them) heavier than 250g will be restricted to operating in A3 meaning you have to stay away from urban areas...
Oh hi! I saw your post a little while ago and I think that was part of the motivation for my question. I want to try to ask for help with the swelling first, but one of the replies to your post said they were rejected, so it seems like something that isn't super predictable and it would be good...
I have a battery purchased directly from DJI quite a while ago and it should be outside of regular warranty. It has ~40 charge cycles and is swollen. I'm wondering if it's any cheaper to go through their service department for a paid replacement versus just buying a new one at retail.
I looked...
Generally agreed, but have you looked at alternative apps like Dronelink and Litchi? They might let you do some of what you want.
As for the OP, yeah, this is from a year ago ...
The new firmware is out now, hoping to hear back from anyone with this freezing/range issue whether it's fixed. The change notes don't explicitly reference any kind of fix.
Well, great. I got a M2Z and a SC this month and of course the first thing I did was bring everything up to date, had abrupt disconnections and maybe even an app crash during my test flight. So I guess an older firmware migth be a good thing to try before I go about modding stuff. I hope it...
I apologize for not directly answering your question, I don't have experience with any non-DJI drones. I would however say that having a drone that you really don't want to crash may be a pretty good way to get into it. You'll practice pre-flight checks and controls and then get into basic...
I didn't really have an opinion on this going in, but as I used my drones to capture video it did prove to be very intuitive. When your mission area is, say, a 200m radius and 120m AGL (or really half that if you're not trying to do wide landscape shots) then "I climb one meter every second"...
And glad I did. The one on the right looks like somebody scraped off the gray sticker with a pocket knife. I assume this is supposed to be some kind of emergency valve. No idea what would compel someone to do this. I looked at the manual and the battery page shows the bare vent with no sticker...
App updates on the Smart Controller seem to happen in conjunction with firmware releases, so what you're seeing should be normal.

If you're filled with desire and confidence...
Yeah, i'm still holding out hope for this considering the Mini 2 uses the same controller as the Air 2.
Whenever this topic comes up someone will point out that a Smart Controller costs more than the Mini 2, and then some will respond that people who already have higher end drones (and the SC)...
Yes, that's what my hypothesis was. So if things stay the way they are now and DJI just keeps this base version and pulls down the latest internals in-app, then we won't be able to go from, say, a future 1.3.1 back to 1.2.9. You either stop updating, you accept the latest or you go back to 1.2.4...
