I could have been more clear, but I mentioned I use third party apps due to the mapping/inspection work I do. DJI GO 4 is fine. Literally every other app the feed fails. Continues the flights but no feed.
Since you probably won't be using control points, you might get some elevations that are way off. DJI has a tendency to be 5-15m off sometimes. Here is what I would do. I would see if my county has a recent Lidar dataset (2016-2019). If they do, you can confidently download it and create...
I use several third party apps on my iOS devices, iPhone 8 and iPad Mini 4, for various missions. Mostly mapping and inspection stuff. It seems that no matter what app, no matter what mobile device, firmware version...the video feed never works. The only workaround I've found is sometimes...
Is there a mapping/flight control app for IOS that allows importing a KML/KMZ/SHP of polygons, and creating grid missions at each polygon? I have access to just about all the apps including the paid ones but can't find this feature.
I downloaded that app weeks ago but couldn't plan any flights. It seemed like I needed a desktop account to sync flight plans, or maybe I was mistaken. It just didn't seem to be able to do anything useful as a standalone app.
I have been looking around for access to the UGCS beta app but can't find anything. I've tested beta apps via Apple's TestFlight but can't find anything from UGCS anywhere.
There is an app called Hammer that has some awesome flight control options. You can draw a no-go zone on the map, and even while flying a mapping mission it will not enter the NFZ as you can see in the GIF I just made of a simulated scenario with Hammer.
Everyone knows about DroneDeploy, Pix4D, and Litchi. They're probably the three most reliable and most used but they all have their bugs.
Recently I've been noticing and trying some new apps. The three below all have some features that the big ones do not have.
Wondering if anyone else has...
The aircraft has a failsafe to RTH if it truly lost signal for more than 20 seconds or something like that.
To gain confidence practice switching it to S mode and manually flying it back to yourself. Of course you need to have a VLOS.
Also you could try:
Try to disable wifi or turn on...
1st question about interference:
You are flying fairly low around a bunch of tightly packed single family homes...it's probably all the wifi causing the interference warning. Look up how to change channels/frequencies, maybe that will help. But go fly in an empty field and see if you still have...
