Law Question: Can a City Commission arbitrarily make rules regulating Drones without FAA approval?

Here in Las Vegas, the city put up signs at all the city parks saying unmanned aircraft not allowed. I wrote to the city and got an answer saying there is NO official regulation or ordnance, and for now they are just asking folks not to fly there. City park workers tell those they see with a...

    just an idea

After flying today, I will go back to my idea. LED landing light does not have a very wide radius and/or angle. At 200 feet, right above me, easy to see. Move the drone back, and in a short time, the light is not visible. I did not actually measure the angle but if I had to guess I would say at...

    Not Just The FAA Anymore

I did some research. I did find a guy charged by FBI in a case in Florida near Superbowl time but could not find the final outcome of the case.

    Not Just The FAA Anymore

A follow up would be nice. Yes, how did the FBI confiscate the drones? Where are the drones now? What official charges were made? Verdicts?

I think putting a powerful but light weigh strobe near the front would be ideal for spotting your drone that you temporarily lost visual off. The control would be on the controller, and if you press it the light would go off for a few seconds.

    Keeping track of batteries

I wonder who could, who would, be the first to make a "dummy" battery to put in the drone in place of a real one?

THEY screwed up and wont admit it. Early this morning both the B4UFly and Kittyhawk showed my area back to normal flight rules. Last week and the weekend the apps showed my whole area as no fly for security purposes until the 17th of October. Just an FYI !!!

Thanks. I did spend a few hours there and left confused. the FAA site shows a small map for the NOTAM and it says area A is affected, but my apps show it affects several states....

    0224

Hi. Kittyhawk and B4UFLY are both showing no fly in my area because of security. The notam is 0/0224. When I look up the info online, I can not find information that covers my area, which is Las Vegas, Nevada. If you use the app(s), you will see a large area in pink stretching from southern...
