Flying over development/construction sites in the UK

Just do it. You're legally allowed to fly there. If you don't want to go directly over the site, the quality of the photos is such you could film without overflying it. Once you've got the photos, you've got them and if the contractors want to open a can of worms it's up to them. If they are...

    Hello.........and Goodbye.

+1 for Grey Arrows Club. If you join, they have an app "Good 2 Go" just put in the details of your location, type and model and any qualifications you have and it will tell you whether you can fly in that locations or not. Simples. There is also an app "Drone Scene" which shows you a very...

Do i need a UK Commercial Licence ?

Hi Ian, I'm not a PFCO holder (just a hobbyist) but read up quite a lot and have come across this. It all depends on your intentions for taking the photo when you take off. If you take off and take a photo, with the intention of using it just for your personal use, non-gain, that's fine. If...

Locking speed, direction and rotation for smoother cinematography

If you think the problem lies with your control of the sticks, instead of putting your thumb on top of them, put them at the base, rest on the controller, and move them with sideways movements of the side of your thumbs. (hope that make sense)

UK relevant, does anyone know if the CAA have ever gone after a drone pilot based on youtube etc. videos?

If I remember correctly, several years ago someone was prosecuted for flying near the BAE site at Barrow in Furness. He said he had lost control of the aircraft and the video recovered from it (it landed near the base) was used to prosecute him. £3k seems to ring a bell. Found a link read...

    audio question

I could be wrong but isn't there a setting in the App to "record sound with cached videos"? If you play the video from the SD card, no audio but if you play the cached video,, there's sound.

Mavic Air 2 with stress crack near battery latch after 3 hours flight time - anyone have this issue ?

Who did you originally buy it from, direct from DJI or via a distributor? in the UK our first call re a defect is with the original seller, not the manufacturer.

Does the crystal sky fit in the mavic pro bracket?

It won't work on a bracket type designed for a mobile phone. There is a rather large battery on the rear of the screen which prevents it from fitting.

    Flying drone above own garden

On a UK drone site, a member flew a couple of metres high, in his garden, crashed and the insurance wouldn't cover him as he didn't comply with the drone regs (50mtrs etc).
