Aron48, have a look at Where To Fly Your Drone in the UK access via Grey Arrows Drone Club UK this is a the best UK site for Drones. All the advice is there or just ask. For UK regs rather than US.
Just do it. You're legally allowed to fly there. If you don't want to go directly over the site, the quality of the photos is such you could film without overflying it. Once you've got the photos, you've got them and if the contractors want to open a can of worms it's up to them. If they are...
+1 for Grey Arrows Club. If you join, they have an app "Good 2 Go" just put in the details of your location, type and model and any qualifications you have and it will tell you whether you can fly in that locations or not. Simples. There is also an app "Drone Scene" which shows you a very...

I could be wrong but isn't there a setting in the App to "record sound with cached videos"? If you play the video from the SD card, no audio but if you play the cached video,, there's sound.
Who did you originally buy it from, direct from DJI or via a distributor? in the UK our first call re a defect is with the original seller, not the manufacturer.
On a UK drone site, a member flew a couple of metres high, in his garden, crashed and the insurance wouldn't cover him as he didn't comply with the drone regs (50mtrs etc).
