    Another close call ,Helicopter magnet?

They used to tell us 110 knots of rotor wash @ idle for a CH-53E Super Stallion onboard USS JFK. This is why we had to close all aircraft access panels and canopies when these behemoths were inbound. Of course, I doubt the Gov was on a 53. Maybe an Agusta, but a low flying 53 could easily...

Class G airspace and Class E

"I see," said the blind man. Well, I'm very proud of you for the path you've chosen. I've worked with the Sea Cadets before in Norfolk, Virginia and Naval Air Station Oceana in Virginia Beach. BZ to you for getting out in front of others who will choose to serve. That demonstrates initiative and...

Man caught after fleeing police standoff, shooting at drone

If a tree falls in the forest...Just kidding. But then there's the whole murder thing again. Really, I just don't know. A reasonable person would think that it is illegal to shoot at the drone (hit or miss), but I'd still like to know the statute. Obviously, there are other charges in play here...

Man caught after fleeing police standoff, shooting at drone

Well, in that case, I suppose it could be "attempted" murder. In the case of a drone, what would it be, "attempted" destruction of gov't property? IDK if that holds water.

Is it a federal offense if he shoots at it or if he hits it? Hmmm...

I suspect moderators might want us to move our military reunion elsewhere =D OBTW, Carswell AFB is not closed. It is now Joint Reserve Base Fort Worth. I do my Exchange shopping over there.

FAA Says Manual Authorizations for Recreational Pilots a No-Go (at least for now)

That's good to know, thanks. I hope that doesn't end up being exclusive to the part 107 folks. I could see some projects requiring lengthy authorizations. I'm not sure if they would do that for the recreational folks. If they do then great, but I have my doubts.

    Lightening Bolt

Are the weather guessers in AZ able to predict haboobs? Cause that would make for some awesome footage.

Need more folks around my neck o' the woods

IDK, I think it would be nice to have someone who shares interest in the hobby present instead of a dozen inquisitive onlookers asking a thousand questions. Don't get me wrong, I'm always prepared to pitch the positives of our hobby to anyone who is genuinely interested but sometimes the...

FAA Says Manual Authorizations for Recreational Pilots a No-Go (at least for now)

Yeah, I live right at the Class D boundary for a municipal airport that is not supported by LAANC so I can no longer fly from home. Fortunately, I have lots of wide-open Class G Texas sky available within about 5 minutes. I will be putting DroneZone to the test when it comes up for rec flyers...

****! You got somewhere you requested? Now I know I need to hoist the BS Flag! ; ) Thank YOU for your service and everyone else on here who served. USN 1987-2007. Been to a few places that were glad when we were gone. XD

Class G airspace and Class E

Yeah, something is afoot at the circle K. As a military retiree, I've never met another service member that demanded respect for their service. Further, after 20 years in the aviation community, I never saw a 17 year old pilot of anything but a mop bucket. Not saying they don't exist but that...
