You won’t have any trouble taking it on a plane. Just make sure you carry on the batteries. When you power it up it will tell you that you’ve changed regions and prompt you to accept it. Easy.

Personally I don’t see the attraction of pushing the max distance. There’s plenty to photograph and see keeping it within line of sight.

I’ve ended up taking off and landing from the deck. I have to dodge rigging on the boat, but so far so good. I generally stop the boat to make landing easier.
