Mavic Air 2 vs Air 2S

I'm sure that the Air2S is overall a better drone than the Air 2, especially for those who are more into photography and video creation, but it was never different enough for me to pull the trigger and buy one. I got the FPV instead (nearly a year ago now), and love it. I also still love the Air 2.

    Line of Sight ?

Well that's one of several reasons I want to maintain visual contact, BUT...the birds in my area that take an interest in the drone are hawks, and if one of them wanted to take the drone down I don't think I could maneuver it quickly enough to avoid it. They're pretty quick and agile flyers. I...

Master Airscrew has their Air 2S propellers available now

I have them (orange ones) on my MA2 and love them, so it's good that they're available for the Air 2S now as well. I wouldn't exactly call them "stealth" as it says on the tin but they are a lot quieter than the stock props. I'll have to look for videos of MAS props in action on the 2S...since...

Mini 2 Took it up today

Wow, that's a very nice shot from that little drone.

*giggle* Air 2S, yeah, right XD

They're good for about 50-100 ft, and when you take off and land you'd better be a safe distance away.

Warning. The Fly app 1.4.8 isn't stable.

Yep. I've rolled back to 1.4.4.

Air 2S Crashed in the Lake. Why?

Well you'd think it would run pretty smoothly on the latest release.

crashed out of the sky. No warning. SPLASH

That's what happened to my supposedly "rain-proof" Fimi X8SE 2020 after I got caught in a sudden rain shower. Yep, it will come down like a brick.

Air 2S Crashed in the Lake. Why?

So does that mean the app is flawless and there are no problems except user error?

Air 2S Crashed in the Lake. Why?

Well I'm an Android 11 user and Fly 1.4.8 has been far from flawless for me. And it's not my fault. And looking around, I'm not alone.

Air 2S Crashed in the Lake. Why?

The stability and, in the case of Virtual Flight, even availability. Do you even use Apple products? How then would you know enough to be so dogmatic about it?

Air 2S Crashed in the Lake. Why?

I never had a single problem with Internet Explorer 6. But that doesn't mean it was problem-free software. The fact that you've never had a problem with Fly on Android doesn't mean nobody should have problems with it. DJI apparently does put more care and effort into their releases for Apple users.

Air 2S Crashed in the Lake. Why?

That's a good point; in the past I've observed that sort of thing with my Air 2 -- and everything is as completely calibrated as I can get it.

Update DJI Fly from vs. 1.2.1 on Android Phone???

I spoke too soon. I had the day off from work today and just a while ago decided to have a little flight with the drone. As I was bringing it back for a landing in a place that I've used many times and in which there isn't much interference, I inexplicably lost RC connection when the drone was...

Air 2S Crashed in the Lake. Why?

This is a big irrelevant tangent, but... https://appleinsider.com/articles/16/03/02/drone-maker-djis-new-apple-partnership-inspired-by-customer-crossover There are probably business reasons for it; maybe it continues to be the case that most DJI customers also use Apple products. I don't know...
