I wouldn't fly near the targets. It may become an inadvertent target! I saw some cool shots filmed directly right of the firing line. A drone can be great to use as a spotting scope for personal practice, checking the targets up close after firing.

So much for my personal flying privacy. Oh well China gets all the data anyway...

I'll be visiting Portland area in the Spring and will be bringing a couple of drones along. Looking forward to it!

Will adding anything like lights take you over the limit? Or is 249 grams for the basic aircraft.
