    New DJI senior citizen pilot!

Welcome to the forum. I am also an older member, being 76. I just started with drones a couple of months ago, and am still learning. I have crashed and repaired my Mavic 2 zoom, and realized after buying it and having a tree bring it down that I should be learning with something less...

Why Did Mavic 2 Use 60% of Its Power on the Return With Slight Tailwind?

Calculating the time for Max distance I get 21.6 minutes. Indicates to me the battery is good getting over 22 minutes.

Checking back in to say thanks!

Since my recent encounter with a tree with my M2V I have had to do a fair amount of fixing. I am back in the air, and I don't think I could have done it without all the helpful posts I have found here. Much appreciated!

Retired farmer, loves photography. Now I have a flying camera! Very useful on our farm. I hope to get good ideas from all of you.

Welcome to the forum! I am also a newbie here, and have been flying around my 10 acres. I have found trees spell trouble for my Mavic 2 Zoom. I have also found out that if you are careful you can herd a few cows if they are not too wild. The drone is much more maneuverable that being on...

Why Did Mavic 2 Use 60% of Its Power on the Return With Slight Tailwind?

Different speeds for different things. In your car you would not expect the speed that gets you some place the fastest to also be the speed the lets your car run for the longest amount of time. Seems I have read that the maximum flying time for the drone was measured at 17 mph. The speed to...

Why Did Mavic 2 Use 60% of Its Power on the Return With Slight Tailwind?

A common phenomenon that may be related to your flight is that the wind can be expected to change about 30 degrees as you get close to the surface. It is briefly explained here: Key Skill: Determining Wind Direction | METEO 3: Introductory Meteorology What is happening is that the wind aloft...

Mavic 2 Zoom, won't pan or tilt, gimbal calibration does nothing, no errors indicated - solved

After my M2Z encountering a tree and falling 20 feet or so into my pasture, I have been fixing things. Last problem to show itself during flight test was no control of camera tilt or pan. I thought at first I had set something wrong in software, but no. Gimbal calibration did not even try and...

Are the M2P and M2Z camera and gimbal assemblies interchangable on one M2 body?

It is a square dance move where two people move around each other and both go back where they started. So you sort of change places, then go back where you were. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Do-si-do

    Mavic 2 ESC board description

I have been looking at the rear arm LED driver circuit. I see that in the arm itself, there are three LEDs, and each is capable of emitting red and green light. The gray wire is common to both colors and all three LEDs. The black wire connects to the red LED, and the white wire connects to...

    New flier from eastern Oregon

Thanks to all the kind replies! I was practicing coordinated turns with the M2Z when I got too close to a tree and the drone came down. Broke the of the little tab on each the rear legs that limit the angular movement of the legs, have one of those repaired, the other one still needs to be...

    New flier from eastern Oregon

Thank you! I have been looking through forum posts and have already learned quite a bit. I am currently flying the MM with a Samsung tablet. I ordered the mount that seemed most recommended here, and it should be arriving via UPS in the next few hours.

    Mavic 2 ESC board description

I have been trying to determine how the Mavic 2 ESC board operates. A good beginning point is the very good description of the ESC board for the Phantom 2 by na5n. From what I have been able to determine so far, the Mavic 2 board circuitry is similar, especially on the motor and LED control...

    New flier from eastern Oregon

Hi all! I am from the Hermiston, Oregon area, a rural area. I am new to flying drones, and very new in the learning process. I have a small 10 acre farm to fly around and learn. I have broken a Mavic 2 zoom, hope to get parts tomorrow to repair it. I think the ESC board is dead. None of...
