    Lost Mavic Pro

Does anyone make a strap to secure the battery in case it should loosen, or maybe a strong rubber band?

    Launch and return to boat

I say, enjoy the boat outing but leave the drone at home. Don't fly from a boat. I have read too many horror stories on this forum and other media about drones being lost from a boat, either flyaway or just landing or crashing into the water. The boat flights are further complicated by...

Tourist crashes drone through window in NYC

In Houston, last year, a man from out of the country urinated in the parking lot of a restaurant late at night. A man that was a Martial Artist, a mat fighter and a bully, saw him doing it and took offense. His wife, a Deputy Sheriff, was also present. A fight quickly erupted, and the mat...

Lost Mavic after loss of connection

Is it possible, since takeoff was from a car park, that steel-reinforced concrete could have caused a faulty compass/home point recording which could cause the drone to fly toward the incorrect home point when signal was lost?

Found Mavic Pro 2 in Byron glacier Alaska

It was probably lost during the Pleistocene glaciation event and has been trapped in those massive ice sheets for over 10,000 years. It could have been flown there by aliens who ultimately sold the manufacturing rights to DJI. That is the only logical explanation.

Mavic P2 - Lost Connection & Lost Drone

Sorry about that, I thought I was posting a valid link. Someone has posted the proper link to the same vendor. That's a great deal for 2 sets of labels.

Mavic P2 - Lost Connection & Lost Drone

I bought 2 sets of very nice labels on eBay for 6 bucks. They are are a very nice fit on my MP and P3P. Each set has a cell phone number and my FAA license number. I placed them on the outer edge of the rear legs on my MP and they look really good. That does 2 things: It makes it possible to...

Mavic P2 - Lost Connection & Lost Drone

No one has suggested a possible bird strike? Out of sight and at that altitude, it is very possible, especially since it was near a river, where birds and other wildlife are normally more abundant.

    MP Obstacle Sensors

This exact situation happened to me on an evening flight about 2 miles outside of an NFZ. I was able to recover my undamaged Mavic Pro after dark, 23' above the ground in the trees of the woods where it landed, but I could have lost my drone. This incident makes it very difficult for me to...

    MP Obstacle Sensors

Or late in the evening and after dark. I have had that happen flying over forest after dark at 200'AGL way above the trees, I was still getting obstacle warnings. Scary! So now I fly with it turned off. MP Flies at 30 mph with it turned off. I never use sport mode.

    MP Obstacle Sensors

I was wondering the same thing. I guess the compass and gps tells the flight controller of the geofence and the flight controller stops or lands the drone. Isn't the MP supposed to be prevented from entering the NFZ in the first place? A drone that I had built using an APM flight controller...

    MP Obstacle Sensors

Thanks, that's exactly what happened to me a few weeks ago, and I almost lost my MP when it landed in a tree in a forested area. My map showed me that my drone was more than a mile outside the Houston IAH NFZ. Now I am very gunshy about flying over trees and water, etc. Fortunately my drone was...

    MP Obstacle Sensors

Can a Mavic Pro inadvertently fly into a NFZ if forward obstacle sensors are turned off? Or can the obstacle sensors prevent me from entering a NFZ? I normally fly with sensors off, and a few weeks ago My drone did a forced self landing because the message told me I was in NFZ. I am still...

Saw this guy land in my yard

Thai indeed is a beautiful bird. It is a Sharp-Shinned Hawk, a member of the Accipiter family. Sharp-Shinned Hawks are "bird Hawks" primarily feeding on birds the catch. She was probably eyeing your drone. I have had hawks fly over my yard several times while flying drones, and on at least...
