    DroneUp acquires AirMap

I find Aloft to be feature-rich, but a little too much for my needs. Just getting LAANC approval quickly for a defined area seemed so much easier in AIRMAP so I’ll be glad to go back. I know it might just be operator error on my part, so YMMV.

    Not my proudest moment

Hope you all are doing well. We just had water come back on today and thankfully our pipes held up, but we will be under a boil water notice for a little while at least. Here's a couple of the shots I managed to take before my neighbor shuffled right down the middle of the street and spoiled the...

    Not my proudest moment

Thanks for the recommendation. I found another pair in my "winter drawer" that seemed to do fine, but didn't have the removable fingers.

    Not my proudest moment

Yeah, you're probably right, blame it on my foggy brain early in the morning. I do tend to err on the side of wanting the latest updates, mainly out of fear that I have a mixed set of firmware between the drone, controller and batteries. If everything says it's on the latest release, it just...

    Not my proudest moment

So in between rolling power outages, but before boiling snow for drinking water, I woke up early to see 6 inches of snow, right here in central Texas. 6 inches! It just doesn't snow here that often, maybe once every six or seven years. After three+ decades living in the area, the most I've ever...

Pro SITZERLAND Mountains, Trains, Lakes and more

This might have been the best amateur drone/land video compilation that I have ever watched. One minute in and I got my wife and we both watched the entire thing, never once feeling like a shot went too long. Enjoyed the mix of land-based video as well as the music and inclusion of real sound...

ALL FUN AND GAMES UNTIL THE GRAPPLE SWATS YOU AND THE FRONT LOADER FLATENS YOU

Does anyone from Texas have State Farm insurance on their drone? I inquired about this a year ago for my M2P and never got a call back, so assumed the answer was 'no', but since then my agent retired, so may try again with the new office.

Arecibo Observatory destruction captured by drone and control room

When I first saw this video in my news feed, that’s exactly what I was thinking! You can almost feel the pilot’s reaction when those first two cables snapped and sent 900 tons back to the earth. Tragic. There’s already a movement to rebuild.

Captured unusual activity with my drone

I was careful not to move the drone so there wouldn't be any audible changes in the sound that might alert him. I'm thinking it was far enough away and small enough that he thought it was just ambient noise from the woods.

Captured unusual activity with my drone

I know, I have the exact same question. Dropping a body, okay I get it. But you steal something, and then hide it in the woods in broad daylight. I don't get it. @bumper given your experience in law enforcement, does this make any sense? Yes, the police took the power washer with them.

    Flying over cars and houses

I agree with this point, but still think it is unwise to traverse a well traveled road or highway. Even if you are a careful pilot, look both ways before crossing, etc. there should also be a consideration of what could happen in an emergency situation. What happens if a battery, ESC or prop...

Captured unusual activity with my drone

I had a strange experience yesterday when I was out flying my MM in an abandoned golf course. When I do get to fly it is often at this course because it's a large property without the fear of flying over people, cars or homes, etc. At most it will have walkers, joggers and the occasional golf...
