Same question. Looking for an alternative to Drone Deploy or Maps Made Easy.

Return to home or Dive to death

Seems you could satisfy most of your friends curiosity without risking your drone by flying up there and taking a few pictures and video from the top. He could look over your shoulder while you do it.

Mavic 2 Pro Fell From the Sky is it the RC?

I have considered it but finding the drone has not been a problem. One sank, Lume Cubes blazing, while the other needed to be extracted from a tree (the hard way). Not having fly away issues, just unplanned in flight power loss. Fingers crossed the third M2P is a charm and not a RC issue.

Mavic 2 Pro Fell From the Sky is it the RC?

Darn loop did not close tight enough. Just received a replacement Mavic 2 Pro but unfortunately the same remote control that was flying the previous two downed Mavic 2's. DJI tech support stated the Data Analysis from the flight logs indicated a "Power failure mid-flight leading to the crash...

Mavic 2 Pro Fell From the Sky is it the RC?

Closing the loop on this one. Drone Deploy evaluated the flight logs and also concluded this was a hardware issue. I sent the M2P and RC to DJI for assessment and possible repair. Initially they concluded the repair would be warrantied and listed out the components and sensors to be fixed at...

    Mavic 2 Zoom Payload Limits

Anyone have experience with external load limits on Mavic 2's? Seems DJI has built in a limit which initiates the automatic landing feature. I had hoped to fly two LumeCubes and a top mounted OsmoPocket (bridge inspection tool). I can fly the two LumeCubes without issue but even a little bit...

What are your expectations for Mavic 3

Global shutter like the Phantom 4 vs. the current rolling shutter on the Mavic 1 and 2.

Mavic 2 Pro Fell From the Sky is it the RC?

....shucks. I have DD engineers engaged. Will post an update of their findings after review of the logs. Doubt they will conclude any different than your original assessment. Will be up to the DJI assessment ultimately. Thanks again sar104.

Mavic 2 Pro Fell From the Sky is it the RC?

Okay, looks like I'm not going to recover the DAT file, though I will ask DD. Is there anyway I can pull the flight logs or DAT files off of the drone or RC itself?

Mavic 2 Pro Fell From the Sky is it the RC?

Is this it? I was flying DD with the M2P that went down. This may be the M2Zoom DAT I used for some video and still pictures after the mapping mission. This is the only DAT file I have for that day, though I flew three missions with two drones. Is there a way I can pull information straight from...

Mavic 2 Pro Fell From the Sky is it the RC?

Has there been many FC failures? I flew a MP1 for over a year with zero performance issues. Always exceeding my wildest hopes. My experience with the M2P has been underwhelming to say the least and expensive. I am hoping I have a lemon RC or FC and can get some serious hours in without issues of...

Mavic 2 Pro Fell From the Sky is it the RC?

Does FC stand for Flight Controller? The M2P did just cease to fly fell into a tree then the ground sustaining a broken arm and sensor damage. No stick inputs from me nor any warning on the RC/monitor. I will run the issue by DD as well but likely this is a DJI matter. I was fortunate to have...

Mavic 2 Pro Fell From the Sky is it the RC?

M2Pro AirData Hi all, A few months back I had an unrecoverable failure over Grays Harbor, WA. My M2P was diagnosed to have lost a prop or had some motor failure (thank you SAR104 and others). My M2P replacement from DJI has now also mysteriously 'fell from the sky'. Similar weak signal found...

Mavic 2 Pro Down: Cause Undetermined

Okay, so I was operating under the assumption that the orientation of the aircraft was indicated by the blue triangle. This icon was tracking along normal until the automatic RTH. This is where the aircraft appeared to be flying backwards until I switched to Sport mode. I then turned the...
