Is it possibly an inherent thing due to the lighter weight? I would imagine it reacts a little more to gusts and such. Even if it won't fall out of the sky, and the gimble can handle the movement, it might simply get tossed around a little more and warn accordingly?

Looking at Amazon US, it's $476 for a used one that can arrive in about a month. Ouch. Liked the sound of the Zenpad, but no compass as mentioned. Not sure why there are no decent modern 8" Android tablets. Plenty of old ones, or new ones that are 10". It seems to be like phones and cars...

Have you considered a used tablet and just keeping your phone separate? A dedicated tablet can be run on a very minimal set of programs and of course get you an even bigger screen (which most would say is beneficial, though you may have a reason to stay smaller).
