A Summer's Worth of Hiking the Utah Rockies

Thanks for the feedback! I actually focus primarily on stills usually and don't take a ton of footage per hike.

A Summer's Worth of Hiking the Utah Rockies

Thank you! I have messed around with several free video editing programs. I settled on GoPro studio and that is what I used to edit this. Its interface is pretty simple but has a surprisingly robust editing capability.

A Summer's Worth of Hiking the Utah Rockies

This is the culmination project of all the video I took in the past summer hiking near Salt Lake City, Utah in the Wasatch Range. It is such a beautiful area. Please let me know what you think!

What is the definition of REAL pilot?

This seems like a silly argument over semantics for the most part. If you have a Mavic and want to call yourself a pilot, I don't see why anyone else should care. I do think that the unqualified word "pilot" has become fairly ambiguous however. For example, here is a list of US Air Force...

    Landscape Photos around Utah

Glad to hear you are joining the community! The Provo area is awesome. I have done some hiking around American Fork canyon and Provo canyon. Great place to fly the Mavic! Unfortunately, I'm getting ready to move in three weeks. My wife and I are moving to South Carolina. We are going to miss...

I forgot to add that I use a PolarPro ND 16 polarized filter on most shots

    Landscape Photos around Utah

Thanks for the replies! To answer a couple of the questions I usually just shoot in normal for the color mode. I used to adjust the white balance but I found myself forgetting to change it sometimes so now I just leave it in auto and it seems to work just fine. I'll typically shoot a 3 shot...

    Landscape Photos around Utah

I have been very happy with the still photo capability of the Mavic. To the point that I've started focusing on photography over videography. Below are some photos taken around Utah. Does anyone else prioritize stills over video?

Wall Lake in the High Uintas

It's a wonderful place to hike/camp and at 10,000 feet it's much cooler in the summer than the Salt Lake City area. Here are a couple other pictures from the trip (not Mavic obviously). My wife is working on nighttime photography and there is little to no light pollution in the Uintas.

Wall Lake in the High Uintas

This is a pano from Wall Lake in east Utah. The lake gets its name from the large rock wall formation (left side of the picture). The wall is popular for cliff diving.

    Mountain Waterfalls in Northern Utah

It really is a beautiful state. I've lived in the SLC area for two years and the local hiking available is incredible. Not to mention it's a four hour drive to Zion, Moab, and Jackson WY

    Mountain Waterfalls in Northern Utah

Footage I've taken this spring/summer in the Salt Lake City area. Here is a list of the falls: Adams Canyon Waterfall (Layton, UT) Bells Canyon Waterfall (Sandy, UT) Scout Falls (Alpine, UT) Stewart Falls (Alpine, UT) Upper Falls (Provo, UT) Bridal Veil Falls (Provo, UT)
