2 lonely sheep on an island

Bit of a mystery as to how these two sheep got on to this island as the water is pretty deep between the mainland and the island, also the rock face is very steep.

Very nice pics eckydrone! The island looks amazing! Maybe that the sheeps are good swimmer/climbers

But it´s rather strange to see two sheeps on an island and one would like to know how they got there!

The one to the right urgently needs shearing. Where is that? I'm guessing Hauraki Gulf, NZ

I agree 'rehkram" (ram?...aint that a coincidence!)....anyway I reckon rehkram that that there sheep is baaadly in need of meeting up with 'click go the shears boys, click, click, click'. (classic Australian Baaaalad - sorry, can't help myself). That sheep is much like this local South Australia rescue (below). Of course the other sheep also needs help, as they are likely very good friends by now...and there would be feelings of there will never be another ewe! LOL
Perhaps we could encourage eckydrone to report it to the RSPCA. I hope he does.

That was sad....but what's even sadder is - 'where is episode 2'?
Covid has impacted the shearing industry as well (see article below).
Seriously though, this poor animal needs help.

@eckydrone200 hasn't checked in lately. I think my post guessing NZ as the location was a red herring; looking at the OP's other posts on the site they seem to be US-based.

Apologies rehkram, not had much time past couple of days. You're kinda far out with NZ and US, I'm actually in the Scottish Islands in the UK, though I suppose that island with the sheep on is in the Atlantic. I agree with the shearing comment but I doubt if that will ever happen. The sheep seem to spend a lot of time at the point nearest the mainland just looking over, I guess they are pining for better grazing. Incidentally when I was filming I thought I caught a glimpse of a rabbit but never seen it again so I guess I imagined it.

I like it! ?. there is a certain resemblance, I guess the rabbit I mentioned in above post could have been Dylan. Must go back and look for evidence of a guitar.

As much as I'd like to help the poor sheep, I am pretty sure the owner is aware of it and would meet any interference on my part with a bit of resentment. To be honest the island is not easily accessible by boat so you would have to weigh up the danger to human life trying to rescue them. I will post a video of the island if I can manage to upload it.

Thank you for explaining the situation.
Herein lies an ethical dilemma - do we do what is 'right' for the farmer; do what is 'right' for ourselves or do what is 'right' for the sheep? .....or in this case what is morally encouraged and lawfully incumbent!
Daily, we forum contributors seek help in caring for and protecting our inanimate, uncaring, unfeeling birds of flight.
It would be remiss of those of us aware of the predicament of a creature who I will call 'Shaun', has found itself in.
Yes, it is likely that Shaun's owner is aware - but who knows what extenuating circumstances may have had to play in this.
I would like to email SPCA but they only accept reporting by phone.
In keeping with the SPCA information below, I (and Shaun) implore that you make that call.
I am confident that after reading this Scottish saying, that you will not be too sheepish to act.

If you cannot contact the owner first, then why not place this in the hands of the experts with resources, the SPCA? This would be a win for all stakeholders, including accolades for the drone community.

I'll do it. Just need a good wee boat and a couple of strong lads. Put Dougal & buddy ashore on the mainland and have a good shearer standing by. I'm a mediocre shearer myself but would attempt it. Oh and then there's the small matter of the return airfare from the US, rental cars, hotels, complimentary M&Ms, etc
