2018 MacBook Air

Hello all,

Is the new MacBook Air enough for 4K video playback and light editing? Most of the editing will be splicing video segments and pictures together for a highlight video. I would like to start playing around with post production editing as well, but very new to this.

Would you recommend buying the 16GB ram upgrade or is 8 enough?

I would think so, BUT I do not know.
I have read here that the new Ipad pro works awesome with 4k video , so I would expect the same from the new Macbooks. Hang in there, someone who has used them will be along eventually!

8GB should be enough but I recommend you get the 16GB. My laptop has 8GB of RAM before and it struggles when I edit 4k videos. I had it upgraded to 16GB and it works a lot better.
