This bizarre-looking image started out as a 360 degree panorama.
I captured this 360 degree panorama over a lake using Litchi. I then transformed it using the following steps:

I captured this 360 degree panorama over a lake using Litchi. I then transformed it using the following steps:
- The images were stitched using ICE.
- A copy of the image was flipped and appended vertically to the original.
- The image was rolled vertically so that the top and bottom of the image were mirror reflections of each other.
- The EXIF data was modified to enable a 360 degree view in Google Photos.
- The image was viewed at one of the poles and captured into what you see here.
