I like to thank the person who put these landing skids on Thingiverse
to be printed out by my 3D printer, they printed and fit perfect.

There are also some leg extensions that I 3D printed and work well
but these landing skids allows landing on a narrow table without
the fear of missing a leg and flipping off.

I used ABS glow in the dark filament to print these and they are light
enough that the Mavic does not even know they are there. :)

Wow. 914 views and 68 downloads after just one day on Thingiverse. Begs the question, how many Mavics have been delivered?

It was the user named "guest" on this forum who created the landing skids.

His account has been removed from this forum (by his request!).

He also created a gimbal lock and battery cover which are also on Thingiverse.

Thank You-nuff said .

I do like the glo at nite feature. I also liked the other set that was taken done. The funny thing is that how many people didnt like the other design but likes this one. Both are very nice and both basically the same design. Makes me wonder if its the glo in the dark feature. Be really great if both designs could be joined together. The other set had like a shock adsorption on it. That in conjunction with the glo in the dark would be a great thing. Happy flying to all and have a great and safe holidays.

I have beta tested them for "guest".

He did also have a version with the shockabsorber in it.

It was useless as it made is very unstable when landing sideways (due to some side wind).

They are also not needed as the skids themselves are already absorbing a lot.
Becided this they added unneeded extra weight.

He is now designing an extra platform so that he can mount a small FPV transmitter with battery underneath.

Was that the Arris XL landing skid you beta tested?

Hi leenanj ,

Guest (who lives in the same building as me) is asking if you could post the photo on Thingivers for others to see?

I decided to modify the original skid plate and make some legs.

3D printed them in gun metal gray to match the Mavic.

Now it looks like a Klingon war bird! LOL

Looks like you got the lock part for the legs printed the wrong way around :-/

Good eye, but no, I removed the latch part as it fits plenty tight without it.

I usually mod any part that needs to be printed with supports.
I try to avoid supports as much as possible if you know what I mean? ;)

Not being completely happy with any of the landing skids or legs
so far I created one integrated base and legs all in one unit
with minimal supports needed when printing.

I have flown this and it works great, very light and sturdy.

My main objective is to land on a small platform about 1' x 1'
so these work great.
