Just got my Air 3S FMC from Adorama.

I also purchased the 2-year DJI Care Refresh.

So I haven't turned on the drone yet. I did download DJI Fly though I haven't logged on with my DJI account so I haven't registered anything.

Will the 48 hours timer activate as soon as I login and turn on the drone?

I wanted to set it up first, maybe do a brief test fight or two, before activating.

Where do you enter the code, on DJI.com?

You got a code? If you got a code, there is no clock. You can enter it here: https://service.dji.com/care/active

I'm not sure if you can fly that drone without activating it; probably not.

The 48hrs will start from the time the drone has been turned on irrespective of whether it's been registered to your account or not. With the Air3S, it would not allow you to fly unless you activate the RC at least, the drone and RC are bound to each other from factory so the drone is activated. Normally the code gets sent to you to activate Care refresh yourself or the store sometimes does the activation for you. You can verify this by entering your serial number into the link below.

I always add to my account immediatlly . I do not want any issues with DJI if something goes wrong. Not sure why you want to wait. I allways have DJI CARE on from startup.

Might be because things are hectic with customs etc, but the air 3S I received a couple days ago was not bound to the controller, I had to manually bind and activate both, then activate care refresh. Drone shipped from Malaysia but remote was domestic.

Activation by default will bind the aircraft to the controller, but all DJI sealed packages come with the remote already paired to the aircraft inside.
