All the pano settings and even the intelligent flight modes are 'gimmicks'. They're there to make certain operations easier for experenced flyers and to make them possible for inexperienced flyers.
Nearly all images I create with the Mavic are Super-Res images to get more options for the post processing. In my workflow I’m used to create two files (4800x3200 for prints and 2400x1600 for online use/sharing). With the M2Z I can’t get the first resolution with a single image.
But mostly I stitch the files with photoshop and don’t use the drone generated. The high resolution helps a lot when I push the shadows. After shrinking to my desired sizes, the noise is more controllable and small details aren’t so easily destroyed. If I don’t forget I also add the EXIF Data afterwards.
If you want some samples, the pictures on my Flickr account are all Super-Res (except the ones of the drone itself): Mavic
