$49 firmware upgrade

Yes. I'm not going to name them though. It might be a great company and do not want to hurt their business because of one little thing that I don't agree with.

First of no reputable company would do something like that, so your protecting their good name does a dis service for all those people you think might fall prey to the BS advertising, just saying!

it is really sad how some people take advantage of others. Instead of just posting the instructions.

Is this really any different from ANY repair shop offering to do things for your possessions?
I think not.
Some people are either too busy or too unsure of their abilities to do certain things.
No big deal IMHO

Instructions are available all over the Internet. This seems like a service for someone who does not want to follow instructions and/or cannot figure it out for some reason.

You would be surprised how many of my clients pay me to do FW upgrades on their aircrafts. Most are newbies just starting out and want nothing to do with messing around with what they say is to high tech for them. My shop charges $19.99 to inspect and to upgrade FW. They are more than happy to pay it.

$49? That’s half the cost of a new Mavic Pro in that ad that is now closed :D I will do it myself.

If I ever win the lotto I will hire a "firmware specialist". They will be on call 27/7/365 for my firmware needs.... I will start them out @ 120K a year....
After you win, call me. Lol, I will come and live with you and perform DJI updates every week. Lol

The only problem with this is if they misled customers into thinking it was something that should be handled by a shop in order to capitalize on that deception.

If customers are just lazy and want to pay $50 for that, that is there own fault.

It's like having a camera store clean your image sensor for sometimes $100+. It takes 30 seconds and chances are the person doing it is no better than you are, and is less careful because it doesn't belong to them.
