A couple of questions for the photo editing experts

Definitely true, and 4k video shot at a high shutter speed is a good option. Using a DSLR I film hummingbirds in 4k at 2000 shutter and get some nice images that would require pure luck to get when shooting stills. You're basically shooting 8Mp stills at 30fps if your shutter speed is high enough--but the video will look choppy. But if you're after the stills, go for it with a high shutter speed.

Good to know. I'll have to try it out on my MPP assuming the shutter speed goes that high.

I believe it does up to 8,000... I like this thread because it's exactly opposite of the normal video thread where the goal is to slow down the shutter. I used to be big on frame capture as well.GOPR0033-7.jpg

Lon did you use VLC to capture those? Why aren't you big on it anymore?

Nah, I used the GoPro program. My other drones are the Karma and the 3DR Solo, both use GoPros. I think I've used Windows Media Player to pull them from DJI footage or whatever came with my computer. Just before Christmas I finally purchased Power Director from Cyberlink but I've hardly used it yet. I have over 2T of footage that I should do something with. My job runs me all around this area and I stop and take quick clips everyday, weather permitting.

I decided on an XPS 13 with the 3200 x 1800 touch screen. I7 8550U quad core with Intel UHD 620 graphics. 16gb memory and 500gb Samsung SSD. It will run an external monitor at 4k. The positive of having integrated graphics is great battery life.

Well, hopefully you'll be happy. If not they sell outboard GPUs you can hook up to your laptop for editing video.
