Hello everyone,
I recently received my Mavic mini and it is my first drone. I know as it is less than 250g, I don’t have to register or get licence to fly. However, want to know that can we still fly in a national park like Golden ears provincial park. Also please suggest good places to take shots in Lower mainland. Thanks all in advance

Welcome to Mavic Pilots! :) Enjoy the forum!Thumbswayup

Welcome to Mavic Pilots .
I hope you will find our site helpful and look forward to any input , photo's/video's you might post .
Don't be shy and ask anything if you can't find it by searching . :)

Hello from Alberta!
Definitely no flying in national parks. The size of the drone does not matter, it is still not allowed. I am not sure about BC, but in Alberta flying in provincial parks is also not allowed.
Even though you do not need a license to fly the Mini, it might be worth while to get your basic license anyways since you will likely end up eventually getting a larger drone.

Kamloops welcomes another mini owner to the forum. Lots of info here.

As @Reidkon says, in Canada there is no flying in National and Provincial or Territorial Parks. That applies to all RPAS (drones).

Currently the only rule applying to sub 250 gram RPAS like the mini is
900.06 No person shall operate a remotely piloted aircraft system in such a reckless or negligent manner as to endanger or be likely to endanger aviation safety or the safety of any person. In other words, don't be stupid.

There is a new regulation proposal by Transport Canada that is asking for pilot suggestions for all RPAS that may include changes for micro drones (sub 250g).
