If you are flying to get used to the system and not working then that is a bit of a gray area. Even if we fly recreationally we have to train with a new unfamiliar system so technically we would not be flying for fun as the intent is to learn the system. At any rate I think you can classify your training with the equipment as a recreational flight, unless you plan to use the footage of the trees and cannons in your job. Do you have your 107 certification or are you an operator controlling the UAV when on the job working with a 107 rated pilot?
