A beautiful day at last after record rainfall. Our lovely Bridge spanning the tidal River Avon running through the Gorge.

Great photo. I've been there. I spent a week in Bristol and visiting the surrounding areas including Bath. I was told the river has the second largest tidal change in the world.

You are absolutely correct. 17ft I think. Hope you had a really good visit.

It's the Bristol Channel (the body of water the River Avon flows into) that has the second highest tidal range in the world - up to 14 metres. The Bay of Fundy in Canada has the highest tidal range.

Great picture - Isambard Kingdom Brunel's Clifton Suspension Bridge in the foreground with William West's camera obscura behind it on the right. The camera obscura is one of only a handful in the UK and well worth a visit.
