For those of you who may have been unaware, Florida Drone supply is the parent company to Sky Source Aerial – the company that contracts pilots for infrastructure work, mapping, cinema jobs, and provides special availability and pricing to its pilot network.

We would like to extend a special thanks to all of the Pilots and Support Personnel that assisted with our Sky Source Deployment to Pensacola. Sky Source Aerial successfully mapped a large section of town for a private project between Pensacola International and Pensacola Naval Air Station. This mission required advanced coordination with both Navy and FAA personnel as well as emergency management and airspace coordination with the team efforts implemented in Pensacola to map the area’s damage.

Due to the great coordination and teamwork that was exhibited during this project, the area residents will be able to get back to normal with more efficient and less disruptive repair of the telecom and other above ground transmission and distribution of critical services.

Again, thank you to all the pilots who travelled in the late hours of the night and brought an unprecedented number of resources for our organization to one place for this mission.

If you would like to learn more about the opportunities available to fly with Sky Source Aerial please contact us via email [email protected] or register here: FLORIDA DRONE SUPPLY PILOT NETWORK REGISTRATION . We are currently flying on cell tower contracts in 24 states and we are always accepting new applications.

No, I Thank you, it was both a challenging and fun experience.

We got to expand our typical mapping skills and apply it to a task that impacts the lives of others. Working with the team in Pensacola was a great team work experience everyone did their part and once we got the correct weather we got it done.

Sky Source staff had to coordinated with the both local and federal officials to make it happen. ATC coordination was interesting and due to the location involved both the FAA, at Pensacola International and the Navy at Pensacola NAS was involved. We even got a show while on site from the Blue Angels. The professionalism of all team members was impressive. It was also a team with many years of collectives experience. One of the operators had 20+ years ARMY UAV experience another had over 30+ years of civilian manned and unmanned experience. Our team leader was from Taxas and and had just finished a month of telecom tower inspections for Sky Source Aerial. The team had an ADS-B and a weather station setup to monitor the environment and airspace. While proving support to over a dozen aircraft present and at least 3 dozen batteries. Multiple generators pop up tents and an RV as our Mobile command thanks to Band of Brothers and Everything Life Saving. It was defiantly a positive team experience pushing the envelop. Effectively 3D mapping about 4.5 square miles of real-estate, to establish the damage levels of critical infrastructure, and to help engineers determine the best course of action to quickly and efficiently repair.

Thank you Sky Source Aerial for selecting me and asking me to be part of this team event. After responding to your help wanted post here on the Forums for disaster work.
