Hi all,

sorry for this question. I’m after some definite clarification on the A2 C of C please.

Here’s my scenario...

so, I fly for work purposes. I fly the Mavic 2 Pro.

what are my flying limitations please?
How close can I fly to people/property?

many thanks

with the A2 C of C you can fly 50m from uninvolved people in the open class ,but if you need to fly closer to people than that then ,you would have to conduct the flight in the specific class, with permissions from the CAA

Think the 5 metre from people rules apply if you have slow mode or tripod mode with A2 class. Worth checking out because I sometimes interpret things to suit myself ?

On this subject, I noticed on the site that a member living in one EU country registered the drone in Ireland because it's cheaper. Nothing wrong about that so I got thinking.. where is the cheapest A2 online course for Europe? Don't think EU Will accept course from outside.

A problem for those who have chosen to switch T-Mode to Atti-Mode.

The 5m rule does not apply unless you have a C2 class Drone and as yet they are not available to buy. Tripod mode does not count as slow speed mode.

If I understand correctly, my M2P goes in C2, which does not yet seem to be for sale, but we are flying under dispensation until January1 2023.

But on the other hand, the rules from EASA and the Swedish Civil Aviation Authority are sometimes quite unclear, so I use T-Mode and the 1:1 rule when I meet people.

A1, A2 and A3 affiliation is at least as unclear.

I have my Drone Card, "Proof of completion of the online training".

As long as we do not have Drone Police officers who tell me that I am doing wrong, I follow the rules as I understand it.

Thanks, I have proof of training and I'd number but the rest of the training is coming soon, or so they say. Think I will fly on the basis that if they can't provide clarity then the benefit of doubt should be in my favour. It's the Muppets who deliberately walk over to me to quote rules of drones that bother me as I start off about 100 metres away from them but they seem to feel the need to go out of their way to start quoting rules.

I have so far been spared from negative opinions in my environment, rather the opposite, there is always someone who stops and asks and is positively curious. Could be because I'm one of the very few who fly drones around here.

Unfortunately, we are far behind the US type in terms of the number of drone pilots. May be due to the official estimate of the number of drone pilots in Sweden is about 400 thousand, which should give about 1800 drone pilots here in my village, in almost two years of drone flying I have encountered 2 other drone pilots and then the Municipality's own Map Department was one.

A really exaggerated estimate of the number of drone pilots, typically bureaucrats, sitting at the desk but never out in the real world.
