Welcome to the Air 2S familyA2s won't fly further than 1/2 mile. Contacted DJI support and their conclusion was for me to check the radius limitation. Is that the same as the set distances, because I had it set to unlimited.
Thank you
Just curious. What happens at 1/2 mile? What altitude are you flying? What is the envirormentA2s won't fly further than 1/2 mile.
Doesn't matter what DJI or anyone else says about how far a drone "CAN" go. FAA - the ruling authority on drones says Visual Line of Sight for YOU the pilot or a in very close proximity spotter - to see the drone. An aid like strobes can help increase range of SIGHT, yet the drone is "supposed" to remain in your / spotters VISUAL at all times. That is not on your screen either, nor using binoculars, or stationing several people along your flight path.A2s won't fly further than 1/2 mile. Hello, yes we're two different people. I've tried everything but I can't get past approximately half mile and I've tired in many different locations. All the obvious checking of equipment, goes fencing and app. settings we're checked and rechecked.Does this happen at 4500 ft in all directions? or only in the one direction you always fly. If it is only one direction, it's probably a restricted zone. If it happens 360 degrees, it is more likely the max distance setting.
I dont have Air2s or fly app, so I am just guessing based on M2P and P4P.
btw, is bonzo and dviera the same person? or is this happening to two different pilots both in Overland Park, which would make the geozone more likely.
Different altitudes 400 and below, location makes no difference, same issue.Just curious. What happens at 1/2 mile? What altitude are you flying? What is the envirorment
There was a bug in the Battery Update that would not allow you to fly past 150 ft until you got the update on the battery but , a 1/2 mile takes that out of the equation and I am at a loss.Different altitudes 400 and below, location makes no difference, same issue.
What happens at said distance
RC signal decreaseWhat happens at said distance?
So it’s not geofencing etc. If it’s happening in ALL situations, then the only thing (before returning it as faulty) I’d try is to turn off dual band and try a specific channel.RC signal decrease
It’s losing signal. Not stopping.I notice that dviera says 1/2 mile, which is 2640 feet distance, and bonzo says 4500 ft. So these are NOT the same issue, just first cousins.
Have you gone to Self Unlocking - Fly Safe - DJI and looked at all the unlock zones? I am attaching a screen shot of the area around Overland Park. DJI has that area cut up pretty bad.
Go to approx (ie a safe public spot) where your drone usually stops, take off from there, and see if your drone stops right there or a short distance away, or if you are in the zone, it might not take off at all! Then do the unlocking process.
HOWEVER, 1/2 mile, and 4500 ft both sound like you are way past VLOS, anyway, just like tlswift58 says in his post above.
Yep, tried that tooSo it’s not geofencing etc. If it’s happening in ALL situations, then the only thing (before returning it as faulty) I’d try is to turn off dual band and try a specific channel.
My Air 2S has bad range too.Yep, tried that too
