I know this is a basic question but I need an explanation for an idiot because I can't seem to get my head around it.

Firstly what's the difference between af and mf infinity focus and how do I set the two? If I switched to MF and then move the slider to the little mountains, does that mean I'm in Mf infinity and if I switch af and do the same does that mean I'm in af infinity? I guess what I am asking is does that little mountain at the end of the slider apply differently depending on whether you move the slider in MF or AF?

Also, when tak8ng images when aerial mapping, which is better and why? Can I not just set my alt, point the camera straight down, auto focus on th3 ground and set to to mf to lock it at that focus and rely on the dof while the camera chang3s from nadir to -60%?

Thanks I advance

Regards

You could set your camera to manual focus and adjust the focus point ti infinity.
But there is no AF infinity
If you set the camera to auto focus, the camera will adjust focus distance according to the distance of your subject from the camera.

It's better to let autofocus take care of correctly focusing the camera for you.

Thanks for your help... one last question if I may... if I am mapping a mix area with fields and buildings/ houses of different heights. Is af still OK? Say if i5 au5o focuses on the roof of a house, can I rely on the dof to keep the ground and other objects in focus?

Thanks again

Autofocus would be just fine
