After repairing the gimbal, the camera points about 15 deg to the right! No error codes.

Hello all.
I'm a newbie, so I hope not to be breaking any rules on my first thread! I tried to find a similar thread but no luck!
I recently bought a crashed Mini 3 Pro from a friend and managed to source the parts needed to repair the gimbal (no part of the drone itself was damaged, apart from one prop!).
After carefully watching a YouTube video, I successfully replaced the pitch and yaw motors, the lower arm and the wiring loom.
I have flown the drone several times now and it flies perfectly with excellent video/stills from the camera.
My problem is that the camera is not pointing straight forward but around 15 deg to the right. I have tried the auto and manual 're-centring' to no avail.
I have not had any error codes appear, which was one of the things I expected after rebuilding the gimbal, so does anyone have any light to shine on this .... please!
John.

Have you recalibrated the gimbal?

Greetings from Birmingham Alabama USA, welcome to the forum! We look forward to hearing from you!

Thanks for reply ... I should apologise for saying I tried to have the gimbal 're-centred' when I should have said re-calibrated! Yes, I did that using the Go Fly app and it went through the motions but settled right back in the same 'off-set' position! I did expect an error code after fitting the gimbal but nothing! It's not serious and as I said, it flies well and the video doesn't even show the camera offset! Weird!

Almost looks as if it thinks that 15° to the right is its "zero" point, although I could be wrong.

when you go to the gimbal calibration you will see an option for manual calibration...choose that instead of "auto" then follow the prompts and use the crosshairs to re adjust the gimbal. you should be getting an error so that is strange.

Well, I have an update. ('update' is an unfortunate choice of word in view of my next sentence!) I had a notification that there was a firmware update, which is now installed but now I have a message in red saying that there is 'No GNSS module' Is it possible to 'undo' the update, as it was fine before that?! It is 'unable to take off' ... grrr! Also, I cannot get the crosshairs to move the gimbal in manual mode.

here is a list of things to do. In order of how I would do them.
1. make sure you are in the correct mode......................change mode and retry
2. calibrate the remote (yes the controller)...................try again after calibration
3. Refresh the firmware. .........if all else fails.
4. replace the GPS module............................I don't see how this could be your problem BUT to get rid of that error you just may have to get a new one.

All good advice, thank you but it seems very suspicious that all was good immediately before the firmware update and now it won't fly!

I think if you refresh the firmware in Drone and controller and you are sure its up to date your error will go away,

Again, I'm probably being stupid but how do I refresh the firmware when an update has already been done?! There is no longer the prompt to do the update! Help!

Ciao a tutti.

I'm puzzled by my post now being in Spanish, including a reply! I can decipher some of it but not all!
Anyway, I have an update regarding the issue I had with the firmware update to the Mini 3 Pro. In a few words, DJI have been amazing! I described the issue and they suggested the best plan of action was to return the aircraft to their workshop in England (I'm in Scotland) via a pre-paid envelope. I did this and very quickly received an estimate for repair at £83 including return postage. I paid immediately via PayPal and 2 days later received, not my old damaged drone but a brand new Mini 3 Pro in a factory sealed box! To say I'm impressed is an understatement!
Well done DJI, that is 'customer service' on steroids!
