Air 2 no longer lands softly

My Air 2 no longer lands softly. Using precise landing, or any landing, it used to sense the ground, slow it’s descent, and land softly.


Now, it just lands with a thump. No damage, nothing hard, just not soft any more.


I tried recalibrating the IMU but that didn’t fix the issue.


What should I try next?

Try calibrating the sensors with DJI Assistant

I have used DJI assistant successfully in the past with a M2P.

I can’t get it to recognize the Air 2.

I have tried several versions from the DJI website, no joy.

Any pointers on getting this to work with an old Air 2?

You have to go into DJI.COM and download the Assistant app for your Air 2 be sure to use the correct USB cable

For future reference, I had to use the Mavic USB charging cable to get the drone to be recognized.

Then, it hung up on the tutorial with the “calibrate now” button greyed out.

I deleted and reinstalled DJI Assistant 2 and its drivers and was finally able to complete a calibration. Will test fly when the weather clears.
