I crashed a few days back and have already repaired most of the damage done. The only thing remaining is the gimbal arm because I am waiting on the part to come in. While looking at the damage I happened to notice there are no screws holding the arm to the spinning portion that's connected to the motor. I was wondering if anyone knew of a way to release the remaining portion of the arm from there without causing more damage. A 2nd option might be to just epoxy the broken part of the arm back together but I would rather replace the arm if it's easy enough. PS. the black stuff used (which I am assuming is epoxy)to hold the original arm, should I remove that before attaching the new arm?

Well, I took the time just to see if the would hold till my replacement arm came in.
I used some Permatex Black plastic Welder and Gorilla super glue on the broken bit.
After getting her all back together. I took it on a test flight and everything appears to be holding and the camera still functions. So there's that. I don't really know how well it will hold up, but it appears to be holding pretty strong. Hopefully it will hold till I get a full gimbal replacement Which I plan to do in the near future.
Still looking for info on how to get that one section off of the arm without damaging the motor housing if anyone has any input.

Hi,
Thank you for these closeup pictures.
Did you manage to find a way to replace the gimbal arms ?
I also have to replace a gimbal arm. Seems I can’t get the yaw motor off the arm. Seems to be glued on and won’t budge even with heat. Decided I needed to order the yaw arm with motor. Hopefully I can get it back together successfully. I tried to advise the seller of the yaw arm that it can’t be sold on its own as it’s not possible to remove the old yaw motor without damaging it. Trying to get a refund for it but so far it’s not turning out.

I have the same issue. I'm guessing this is either extremely difficult to do or totally impossible?

This is what I did for my air 2. Been working great ever since, although forcing the camera mount into yaw arm took a little more force than I was comfortable with. I think you could probably disassemble the arm with some sort of punch but it's not really worth it to save $10 IMO.

Also note that the replacement arm doesn't come with the covers to keep the cables from hanging out lmao

DWisen, I am looking to do the same repair you performed here. What did you end up doing and how long did you fly the drone with the arm Epoxy'd back on? I am trying to decide if I should Epoxy it and if that will be sufficient or if I should just buy the assembly and replace it all. Thanks for any feedback.
