Air 2s Range

Hi all, just bought the AIR 2S, coz I wanted the bigger camera. After a few initial flights, I am finding the range rather lacking, in a straight line over rice fields, 80 mtrs high in N mode I start to get amber RC signal at 1000 meters and at 2000 meters the drone disconnected. I had to shut down the RC and restart, luckily it reconnected and RTH'd. My Mini 3 Pro in the same place did 4000 meters with no problem, also on the first flight I got no height restriction warning, when i changed battery i got the height restriction. The drone is CE UK. I am in Thailand

I wouldn’t complain. It’s doubtful that you can see the drone that far away

The drone isn't CE.
Your drone and controller will adjust the signal strength to suit wherever you are using it.

In Thailand, all drones with cameras, regardless of size, must be registered with the National Broadcasting and Telecommunications Commission (NBTC) or the Civil Aviation Authority of Thailand (CAAT), and pilots must maintain line of sight and avoid flying near people, airports, or restricted areas.

This is why I said what I did. I doubt that you can see the drone at 1000 meters much less further than that

Youre probably stuck in CE mode, I had the same problem. From some reason dji never optimized the range on air 2s in CE mode like they did with older drones like mini 2 which has almost twice as much range in CE. There is an android app that can easily switch to FCC mode but it has to be applied before every flight, there are other more permanent ways but they arent free.
