Air 3s and Goggles 3 / Motion Controller 3

It is very disappointing to see that those new googles are compatibles with very few models only and already not anymore with most recent drones issued. That actually prevents me buying a new model : I then keep my old M2pro with its googles for immersive flights.
Quite a shame from DJI to release a such expensive googles 3 and restrict their use to a couple of drones…

I think part of the issue on DJI’s end is that they are in panic mode about DJI being banned in the U.S. and they are focused on launching as many new products as possible while not having the resources to support existing products.

That’s why I don’t have any interest in purchasing any additional new DJI products. The Action 5 Pro has issues and the Air 3S has some bugs that still need to be addressed.

I have an Air3S and an Action 4.
I'm interested. Could you elaborate?

Users are reporting issues with how 50mp images are being rendered from the Air 3S: Air 3S photo quality analysis with comps M2Pro and iPhone 15Pro. I don’t really use the 50mp option, so I haven’t run into the problem.

On the Action 5 Pro, people are asking for a way to turn the “HDR look” off because it makes skin tones look plastic or muddy. I ran into a bug on the 5 where I can’t use an external power source, like the battery charging case, without a battery inserted into the camera, unless I’m using the multifunctional handle. This isn’t a problem on the Action 4.

The colour artifacts are due to the Quad-Bayer sensor design and could only be improved with better RAW debayering algorithms in post. This is not a bug but a hardware characteristic and I wouldn't expect this to be fixable in a firmware update.
I shoot in 50MP exclusively except for Pano mode because pano resolutions are high enough for my needs, but otherwise this issue doesn't really bother me because the artifacts only appear in very high contrast edges. For landscape photography this is rarely a problem.

For architecture/real estate photography where the shoot often happens in bright daylight, I think the Air 2S/Mavic 3 Pro would be a better choice. These drones have their own downsides though so it's a case of choosing the tool with the best compromises one is willing to take.
