Air 3S drifting from take-off

I think I know what is causing the problem.

If it happens again, you have to quickly flick your controller to Sport mode, and then you can force the drone to come back.

It happens because the internal wiring for obstacle avoidance cameras have become lose, so the GPS data becomes unreliable and that's why the drone malfunctions and drifts off, and refuses to respond to controls.

How could an intermittent connection to the OA cameras affect the GPS position information output? How could it block control commands?

And how could changing the mode switch tighten a loose wiring connection to the OA cameras?

Without the OP's flight log, everything is guesswork. And you're offering a pretty wild guess.

Did you put any reflective tape on your drone recently? I was having a "bird" issue and added some reflective tape to my Air 3s as I have done in the past with other drones. The drone wouldn't acquire more than a few sats and wasn't acting stable. I thought maybe it was the area surroundings. So I lifted off hoping a little elevation would help. But it only got worse. I landed and saw the tape. I removed it and relaunched. Everything was back to normal. Sometimes the simplest things cause problems!

Your suggestion is one of the few in this thread that might explain the issue the OP asked about.
A quick look at the flight data would easily confirm if this was the case.
Unfortunately the OP seems less interested in a solution and was last seen 30 mins after posting here a week ago.
