On my second flight with a new Air 3S, after flying for a while, the drone refused to turn more than 270° left or right. Tried for five minutes before finally giving up, landing, and calling it a night. Luckily, it was directly overhead and had no problem coming down to a safe landing.

Just tried it again this afternoon, and it worked fine, spinning in circles one after another, in both directions.

Anyone encountered anything like this? Any clues why it wouldn't cooperate the first time? I'd love to be assured it won't happen again, but I'm nervous now.

WOWZERS this is a new one on me ,why it would stop at 270 just does not make anything logical ,don't even think any firmware parts would even do that

You didn’t set it on follow me and changed the left and right parameters for a 270? Just a thought? Otherwise I’ve had no issues whatsoever with doing a manual orbit using left and right sticks together 🤔

The Drones sensors either saw something that prevented complete YAW or you need to recalibrate your IMU.
Don't do calibrations in your home or near concrete or metal. if possible go outside to a field.
It could also be a Firmware problem.

More likely a setting in the app than a calibration problem. But the advice to move to the middle of a field before attempting to calibrate is valid.
