When the law changes or you cross a border, is the Mavic crippled by DJI GO4 update this way?

What country are you in when this popped up?

I can think of following scenario:
If you are traveling from the States (FCC) to Europe (EC) , the transmitter range is reduced depending on GPS location.
So, if you are somewhere in the EC area the max. range is 4km.
Going back to the states, the same MP will then reach 7km range.

Czech Republic, no changes of drone laws at the time, no changes in visible settings in Mavic.

The question is different though - when the law changes to some obscure safe version like "don't fly over 100 metres and not from visible range of 300 metres", is the Mavic going to be crippled by software update?

Is this controlled by DJI Go4 or firmware? So can other apps give it more freedom?

The way to avoid sudden changes would be to use a dedicated device and don't normally go online.
The Mavic knows nothing about updates if the connected device is not online.
(With Android) you can download mapping and have no further need to go online for the life of the machine.
