an we use drones to collect data for accuracy assessments for classified images?

We are looking into using drones to acquire ground data for accuracy assessment of Sentinel-2 Imagery. We would like to know if anyone has done this before or if you could point us in the direction of papers that have done this kind of accuracy assessment.

It will be difficult with all of the consumer drones, depending on your accuracy requirements. The basic spec for the level of GPS accuracy used is +- 16 feet 95% of the time. Normal use is usually quite a bit better, but is not guaranteed.

In practice +- 8 feet seems to be reliable enough, but certainly not any kind of legal proof.
