Due to extended weather forecast and my schedule I probably won't be able to fly before my batteries start to auto discharge. They are about 5 days into the 10 day schedule to start discharging. I would like to completely discharge them now and recharge to full a few days from now. Can I hover long enough without doing motor damage to discharge them to zero? It's too windy to do regular flights to discharge safely.
Maybe someone has a better method, eh? Thanks in advance.

You won't incur motor damage by hovering. If you are going to use in a few days, I would press the battery button to reset the 10 day timer and not worry about it. I guess it depends on your definition of a "few" days.

Hovering won't hurt anything, but you don't want to completely discharge the batteries. Around 50% is optimal for storage.
I was thinking about total discharge to zero (or as close as possible) and then fully recharge right away. Hopefully the weather and time will allow me to fly again. Thanks

edit: Is there such a thing as a discharger that would control the percent when it stopped discharging? Maybe not a need for something like that, though.

LiPo's need to be stored between 50-75%. Obviously, not to low nor high.
