The second location we visited and flew last weekend, again with the AIR3 and AVATA2, both of which picked out the amazing otherworldly colours of the Parys Mountain Copper Mine.
Beloved by the producers of many sci-fi series and films - it makes a tremendous alien planet vista - the colours are a result of the high proportion of Copper, Iron and other minerals.
The open cast mine dates back to the Bronze age, is not an interesting place for a walk, and has a decent free car park - and as it was only 5 miles from Porthwem Brickworks it would have been rude not to visit..
I spotted the amazing rock gap - about 2' at its widest - in a pillar of coloured rock and just had to fly it, tight but doable... The stunning blue sky belied the wind - it is very exposed - but what a place!
