That's .37 of a mile.... what's wrong with that range for a drone that's only as big as an average mobile phone? There isn't a chocolate firegrate's chance in hell of physically being able to see your drone at that distance. Signal strength and reliability has nothing to do with how far away you can fly it. That kind of transmitter range should guarantee a rock solid control signal at the outside edge of VLOS.

I’m looking into adding external antennas to my RC remote. It will probably be about a $150 upgrade as I don’t want to drill into the case in case repairs are needed. It’s a great remote controller with one flaw.
