Hi all.

Did a bit of close up photography on the weekend and had to do it in Speed mode because I wanted to get close to the object - is there a way of using the other modes but disabling the obstacle avoidance?

Yup. Just go into the menus. It's pretty easy to find.

You'll find lots of interesting and useful things like this when you explore the app settings.

BTW .. using Sport Mode to fly close to obstacles is quite risky.
You don't want the controls to be twitchy and the response to be "sporty" when obstacles are close to your drone.

I rarely need the flight dynamics offered by sport mode but I often need to switch off obstacle avoidance quickly. So, I've set the gains and expos of sport mode to the same as normal mode. Now when I need to maneuver close to an object but the drone stops because of obstacle avoidance, I can just switch to sport mode (which has no obstacle avoidance) and fly closer.

That's one way to do it.
The other would be to set one of the push buttons to enable or disable OA. Then you can quickly have it if you need it.

Is that possible? I don't recall seeing enable/disable OA as an option for any of the programmable buttons.

No.

Thanks so much for this (and all answers!), really appreciate it. Yes, it took some skill with Sport mode....but I kind of enjoyed the challenge and didn't crash!!!👍🏼

Really interesting, thank you!
