I finally made the upgrade from my beloved Air 2 to my new Air 2S and I love it, the Air 2 was always my favorite but Life happens and I was regrettably forced to part with mine but in a happy change of fate I had a friend who had a spare Air 2S with a pro control controller who was not using it found out about my unfortunate recent luck and in an act of generosity, gave his barely used (in the year he owned it he took it on one flight) Air 2S and Pro controller and gave it to me!

It's rare that something good like this happens to me these days but I digress, something I've noticed with my Air 2 and now my Air 2S that seems to be unique to the line, in that I havent noticed thus far any of my other drones this happens to (Air 3, Air 3S, Mini 2, Mini 2SE) is that whenever I'm flying around with my Air 2 line, I always seem to get lots of attention from hummingbirds, they always seem very curious about it, and fly up to it almost seeming to say hello. I even had one stop in front of the drone, look at me as if to ask for permission to approach, and then look back at the drone and got closer. The first thing that popped into my mind is the RPMs of the blades, are they similar to that of a hummingbird wing flaps per minute? Do they think it's family? I'm curious to see if this happens to anyone else. I fly all over Southern California and it is happened in San Diego, Los Angeles, Palm springs, riverside, and even Colorado.

Let me know what you think in the comments below below

I have the Air 2s but have never had any experience with it attracting birds of any kind

The Air 2S really does seem to irritate the birds like no other drone I have ever flown. In fact, pretty much all the animals my Air 2S has gotten imagery of hate it. I feel like it has something to do with the especially irritating high pitched prop noise. So surprising that such a little drone can make that much noise.

What suggests that those swallows are irritated and hate your drone? How do you rule out curiosity, or play? They just might be making fun of the big, clumsy, noisy "bird" that can't come remotely close to matching their flight capabilities.

On several occasions, I've had numbers of swallows and martins fly around my drones, but I've never seen one exhibit any aggression toward it or even come closer than a few feet. I've never noticed that the Air 2S gets more attention from birds than other models. There have been three or four occasions when hummingbirds briefly investigated a drone.

Birds are attracted (or repelled) by all drones. Most of the time they are just protecting their territory, or just curious. It's definitely not exclusive to your model of drones. I've had them come investigate everything from my old Phantoms, up to my current fleet of different Mavics and Minis.

Pigeons are the worst. They're stupid and curious. Not exactly a great combination in the animal kingdom.

Hummingbirds are intensely territorial. They will attack hawks and ravens, which are many times their size. I have a metal vapor film on my windows. UV is intense at this altitude and this blocks it so the furniture does not bleach out. The hummingbirds will attack their reflection in the windows. One flew at it so hard it broke his tiny neck, much to the cat's delight.

Yes pigeons are indeed the flying city rat. Most of the world they are nature's taco and end up on the menu in many countries around the world. The oddest bird that is just curious are vultures. They will cruise around 100' above the drone and check it out for a few minutes.

My Air 2S attracted a lot of negative attention from seagulls like no other DJI drone I've owned. It might just be the pitch of the blades since I fly a Mini 4 Pro, a Mavic 3E and a Matrice M30 and the 2S was the one they hated LOL.
I get interested looks from some birds with the Mini 4 Pro, and the Matrice attracts turkey vultures out in the country where I fly doing surveys of the restoration of a local Conservation Area. They arrive slowly by the dozen and fly in lazy circles for a bit with the drone as it maps the location.
