Anyone have experience with DJI repair discounts? or appealing their denial?

So my Mavic Air crashed after losing signal, hop over to the Mavic Air Help forum for what happened. DJI said losing signal isn't a warranty issue and won't cover the damage under warranty. What they did offer was possibly discounting the repairs, so I called them to see what kind of discount they were offering. Sounds like they don't want me to push the issue for some reason as they won't give me the details until I agreed to take the offer. They did say eventually that if I'm not satisfied with the offer I can still appeal it and go from there so I told them to send me the new quote and I'll go from there. I'm steadfast in my belief that there is an issue with the drone itself and the flying conditions did not contribute to the crash, but I doubt I'll win that argument. I was flying near trees and a power substation, even though I had no issues going out but I digress.

So I'm wondering if anyone has had any luck getting DJI to change their decision on warranty denial and what that process was. Or if you've been offered and repair discount and what that discount was. I'm sure I'll find out tomorrow as they've been quite prompt in this process, but I'm just trying to get a realistic idea of what they'll offer. I'd be happy with either parts or labor free or 25-50% off total cost. I don't expect that, probably looking at 10% off parts or something.

I’m a bit surprised. I hung mine in a tree and it fell while I was getting a ladder. The fall did the damage. And in a week I had a new drone (new by serial#)
 
Did you have refresh care? I don’t. Wish I did because it would be half the cost but oh well. I’m pretty surprised they said signal loss isn’t covered but whatever, I’m sure I could have done something to not lose it. Like not fly that day.

I don’t unfortunately, was going to insure it with my insurance company but that’s a long story.

I just got off the phone with them and no discount, they keep saying I flew it into a tree but I didn’t and the video proves that. Unfortunately the guys answering the phones have little to no decision making ability so it’s almost like talking to a brick wall. They just keep saying they’ll refer it back to data analysis yada yada yada. But **** for the quoted repair cost I might as well buy a parrot anafi and tell them to chuck the **** drone. I’m sure I can sell the fly more stuff to recoup some money.

Very frustrated.

At this point I don’t feel like I’m going to get any further so I’m just going to pay it and hope I get a good unit back. The thing won’t be going in the air until it’s insured. Not dealing with this crap again, I do wonder if I can put refresh care on the unit once it come back.

DJI lists a way to do this on their site. It requires info and pictures, but you can also argue that they just fixed everything and that might work.

It looks like they’re sending me a new unit. Within 15 minutes of paying I got shipping notification with a different serial number. It doesn’t have an R in it so I’m thinking it’s not a refurbed unit, not that I would care.
