Are 2.7k and 4k both 60mbps?

I remember reading elsewhere that 2.7k was recommended over 4k since they are the same bitrate, so you're actually getting more detail/data in the 2.7k stream?

Of course with the 4k you can crop or apply digital zoom type of effects, but seemingly the quality wouldn't be as good?
Is this indeed the case?

2.7k has been widely recommended on forums as being the best choice. 2.7k shoots in 45Mbps, with a higher bitrate per pixel than any of 4k modes.

Smaller file sizes and better quality video to work with definitely sounds appealing to me... Wonder if down the line will regret not having the 4k source files though..

Exactly my thinking at the moment. I think I will continue with 2.7k. Even so I own a 4k Dell Monitor and love the crisp look of 4k YouTube videos. Only recorded 4k so far.
2,7k from now on. Easier to edit for me and file size reduced.

I've been shooting in 4k but only have a 1440p monitor and 1080p televisions. I love the extra detail in 2.7k viewing. I've been tempted to swap to 2.7k recording and see if there's any improvement in, say, video jerkiness when turning.

The only problem with 2.7k video is that it is truncated. If you compare the shots with 2.7k and 4k at the same location, you'll see that 2.7k has less FOV, meaning that the edges are cut off. I don't like that, as our camera already has a narrow FOV as compared to the other DJI models.

For some reason my 2.7k doesn't look as sharp as 4K? I'm shooting at 30fps, that shouldn't have to much to do with it should it?

What on earth? I just did a test and there is absolutely no FOV change when switching from UHD 4K 30 to 2.7K 30

Did you perhaps mean the switch from DCI 4K 30 to 2.7K 30? That is naturally going to happen because you're switching 190:1 ratio to the more standard 16:9

Custom sharpness settings the same between tests?

2.7K is less resolution, less pixels, so it's going to look "less sharp" if comparing to a 4K source— but compared both at 2.7K they are identical in my tests at the same sharpness settings

Jerkiness in turning is going to be relevant to your frame rate and the rolling shutter of the sensor, not your resolution. There won't be a change. ND filters may positively or negatively affect this "jerkiness" depending on what your desired outcome is.

Interesting. I was going off of a YouTube video where 4k vs 2.7k shorts were compared and the reviewer was showing the difference in frame width. Perhaps he was using the full 4k rather than UHD. It was a significant difference. Good to know, as I've been avoiding 2.7k thinking it was not using the whole sensor.
